Should I fix my Audi’s oil leak or just keep topping it up?
So I’ve had a slow oil leak on my 2016 Audi A4 for maybe six months now, and it’s never been bad enough to leave puddles on the driveway or anything dramatic, but I’m definitely adding about a liter every couple of weeks and it’s starting to get annoying. I took it to a local garage who told me it could be the valve cover gasket or maybe the oil pan seal, but they couldn’t tell without doing a more thorough inspection which would cost a bit upfront. I’m kind of torn because the car runs perfectly fine otherwise, no weird noises or smoke or anything, so part of me just wants to keep an eye on the oil level and keep driving it until it gets worse, but another part of me knows that ignoring a leak can lead to bigger problems down the road, especially if it starts dripping onto something hot or if the oil pressure drops too low. I was talking to a colleague who had a similar issue on his A5 and he said he found a specialist who sorted it out for a reasonable price, so I’ve been looking into options around Abu Dhabi.
