Is ceramic coating on a Jeep actually practical for off-roading?
I’ve been going back and forth on this for a while now and I really need some honest advice from people who actually use their Jeeps for what they’re made for. I’ve got a 2020 Wrangler Rubicon that I take out to the dunes pretty regularly, and while I love the car, I’m getting tired of spending hours washing off all the dust and sand after every trip, only for it to look dirty again within a day. I’ve been considering getting ceramic coating done because I’ve heard it makes cleaning way easier and dirt just falls off, but I’m worried that it’s going to be a complete waste of money on a car that’s constantly getting scratched by branches and peppered with sand. I found a place that offers Jeep ceramic coating and detailing near Khalifa City and their work looks impressive from the photos, but I’m skeptical about how well a coating would actually hold up against the kind of abuse an off-road vehicle goes through. Does it really make that much of a difference when you’re hosing off the mud and sand, or is it just marketing hype? And if it does get scratched or damaged, can a detailer just spot-repair the coating or do you have to redo the whole thing? I’m willing to spend the money if it genuinely makes my life easier, but I don’t want to throw cash at something that’s going to look terrible after the first desert trip. Would really appreciate hearing from any off-roaders who’ve actually done this and can tell me if it was worth it or not.
